Director of Research bennett@caasny.com 212-350-2781 John Bennett is responsible for research, editing and project management for CAAS. John's most recent CAAS project involved research for an extensive published study of the relationship between casino gambling and crime in the United States. For a project involving federal Assault Weapons Ban legislation, he worked closely on national advertising, public relations, lobbying and internet advocacy initiatives. Mr. Bennett has significant research experience in the field of political and public relations consulting, as well as a background in corporate speechwriting and journalism. He has written position pieces, speeches and presentations for the research and government affairs officer of a leading international industry trade association. In his prior work as a newspaper reporter, Mr. Bennett received a Virginia Press Association award for feature writing in 2000. His writing has been published in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and other publications.
